This past weekend the official teams to make it to the Super Bowl 2024 were named after the final playoffs games. The Kansas City Chiefs are the returning champions who will be facing off in their fourth Super Bowl since 2020. They will be facing off against California’s own San Franciso 49ers, who beat the Detroit Lions to make it to the final game of the season.

The 49ers pulled together game winning maneuvers in the last 30 minutes of their recent game. By halftime, San Francisco went to the locker rooms trailing behind the Lions by 17 points. However, once they made their way back to the field, they made up the 17 point difference in just eight minutes of game play, showing they are a force to be reckoned with going into the championship game.

The 49ers came out on top with a final score of 34-31.

This Super Bowl will be a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl, in which the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against and ultimately defeated the San Francisco 49ers. Fans of the two teams and all football fans alike are very excited for this pairing to have a second game to see who is the best in the National Football League. San Francisco fans are especially hopeful that they team is able to redeem themselves and take the title this time around.

Fans are so excited and hopeful that the 49ers will win this game, they are wanting to plan and anticipate where the victory parade would be.

The 49ers are still known as the San Francisco 49ers and used to reside there, but their home stadium falls in Santa Clara technically now. Locals have taken to ask the cities where the parade would be held so they can plan accordingly, should the 49ers take the championship title.

The answer from the cities? They do not know yet. The Mayor of Santa Clara, Lisa Gillmor, said the decision truly lies with Jed York, the CEO of the team. The office of the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, had a similar, unanswering answer stating simply, “One game at a time.”

Either way, Californians together are hopeful for the big game on February 11th, set to be in Las Vegas.
